May-June 2023 issue
Hello, our readers and writers, Thanks for your long wait for our May/June 2023 issue. Each issue is a special issue for us, and we try to make improvements to every issue. Even though we work with minimal publishing resources, we focus on the quality of each work submitted for publication. Fortunately, most of our writers are experienced, versatile, and always willing to listen, reducing our editorial workload. As the editor of this magazine this means a lot to me. However, I am always looking for views and suggestions from our writers and readers so that we find new ways to improve this magazine further. Our readers and writers know that Confluence has a broader readership across the globe. However, many of them are not entirely familiar with the copyright laws governing publishing or republishing any form of creative work in publications with global reach. In this issue, we are publishing a special article by Sharon Rundle titled ‘Understanding copyright for authors and writers’. Sharon has many years of experience publishing various forms of literary work and has worked with authors from many different countries and cultures, making her the best person to write this informative article. I hope this article will raise further awareness of copyright laws among authors and editors who contribute to Confluence. The main highlight of this issue is the recent literary festival held in the Washington DC area. Also, as usual, we have put together a variety of genres from our talented writers and introduced some new writers too. I am sure our readers will welcome them and form new collaborations in future. Creativity provokes debates and discussions within society to solve some of the crucial problems affecting us. In our last issue, I mentioned that modern literature should reflect everyday issues. I also said that through articles, stories, poems, and paintings, we should openly discuss these issues and bring more awareness among our readers and the public. I am delighted that some of our contributors have reflected this in their recent work. I hope our readers will find the entire issue exciting and I look forward to hearing their feedback soon.
